FontShop’s Free Font
At any given moment, FontShop offers exactly one of their many commercial typefaces available for free download. Right now, that font is Xavier Dupré’s award winning Absara Light (as featured in Typographica’s “Favorite Fonts of 2004.”)
Apparently, Absara Light will disappear soon to make way for Nexus Sans Bold. So make haste!
Thanks to Stephen at Typographica for the tip.
Update: Absara Light is gone.

Forgot to mention that the great dingbat set FF Dingbests is also free on that page. As well as fonts from Device and E+F and the very amusing Olympukes by Jonathan Barnbrook.

missed it 2, anybody here got a copy

Sean - FontShop is able to offer commercial quality fonts for free because they reached agreements with the talented designers of each font to do so. Part of that agreement is that the fonts will be available as a free download for a limited time.
Once folks start asking for the fonts to be distributed beyond this agreement and tossing them willy-nilly it’s going to be tough for us to any fonts on that page in the future.
