I was also a fan of the Lab, especially Day Roman:

http://apostrophiclab.pedroreina.net/0189-DayRoman/dayroman.html

And Scriptina:

http://apostrophiclab.pedroreina.net/0158-Scriptina/scriptina.html

They shut down in 2004 but there's a complete archive here:

There are a few real quality fonts by Tom Murphy (Divide by Zero) at
http://fonts.tom7.com

But by far his best work can be downloaded here
http://fonts.tom7.com/f/tomnr.ttf

Tom's New Roman can be used as a legit serif font, but it looks super hip in print.

I've used it a billion times, but I still love it bunches: David Rakowski's original Davy's Dingbats: http://moorstation.org/typoasis/designers/rakowski/dr2/davy_f2.htm. Not strictly free (it's shareware, I think, or at least it was once), kinda rough, and back in the day it made LaserWriters cry (especially those ganked "budget" LaserWriters Apple was unleashing on a helpless world in the mid-90s), but I like it for all of those reasons, and more. My favorite dingbat font.
