Monday Link Dump

Even if you haven’t played the games, surely you can respect the greatness of this insane archive of Sega fonts.

another low-cost alternative is Your Handwriting 2, from Data Becker. it’s no longer made, but I found a new-in-the-box copy at my local used bookstore for $7, and a friend picked up a couple copies from eBay for under $10 each.

Thanks for the “why arial sucks” I never knew the true details of its history… Im now officially a nerd for caring about such things :)

I love that Scourge of Arial article. Of course, this is coming from someone who wondered, when he used his first Windows 3.1 machine, why Helvetica wasn’t available from the font menu and why they used such an ugly non-clone instead…

Heh, you would ask that of me, wouldn’t you? :) Yeah, that’s quite an impressive site… I stumbled across it a while ago (as is to be expected), and was pleased with how meticulous the font design was.

Thanks for the tip on the Arial piece; I passed it along to a few other designer friends.

As much as handwriting fonts suck, can you, um, link to any decent ones?
