Here’s something worthy of a daily visit: Typophile’s News Aggregator pulls headlines from the best font sites on the web (and Fontleech) and puts them at your fingertips, all through the magic of RSS. Oh, man, what if you’re reading this post on Typophile? DID I JUST BLOW YOUR MIND?

I’m not going to try to document (or pretend to understand) the history of Apostrophic Labs, but after a few mentions in the piracy thread I checked out their fonts at Typoasis. A lot of it’s iffy, but there’s definitely some quality stuff there.
Update: For a more complete collection, check out this site.

What is the commercial typeface industry doing right? What is it doing wrong?

Mac < ==> PC font conversion tools, in case you’re a PC user looking to use some of the sweet Mac fonts we covered in the previous post (including the awesome Mac Rhino fonts Claas pointed out in the comments). Brian Donnelly suggests CrossFont.
Definitely check out the new Typophile.
Um, is it just me or is hotshot designer Peter Saville giving away commercial fonts he didn’t design?

While all you Apple nerds are still going retarded over Tiger, I thought I’d throw you a bone with these Mac exclusives:
Pixelyn has a bunch of good-looking Mac-only pixel faces.
Feltron has a few nice fonts, including Remove (thanks to Jason Fields for the link).
Hopefully everyone will get with the program soon and start using OpenType so I can work with my free fonts on any computer I want (like that sweet CIA computer in Mission: Impossible).

It’s that time of the month! FontShop is tempting you with Arnhem Bold in the hope that you’ll buy the whole family. From the looks of it, you could to much worse than Arnhem for setting copy.

In case you missed it, the Piracy post is full of some very interesting comments, especially this one from “Saint Claude of Garamond.”

Feel free to answer this one anonymously: Have you ever downloaded pirated commercial fonts?
And some speculation: What kind of impact does this have on the commercial type design industry? Where are these pirated fonts coming from? Who shot J.R.?
