Wrap TrueType fonts as WOFF for legacy browser support.
A font converter transforms font files between common containers used on desktop and the web. FontLeech's tool is built for designers and developers who need TTF, WOFF, or WOFF2 files—not a full hosting kit. For CSS, families, and ZIP layouts, use the Web Font Generator.
TrueType — desktop apps and interchange (including from OTF uploads).
Web Open Font Format — legacy browser support with compression.
Modern web default — best compression for self-hosted sites.
OTF is supported as input only; export as TTF, WOFF, or WOFF2.
For new websites, WOFF2 is usually the best default. Choose WOFF only when you must support very old browsers. Choose TTF for desktop workflows or when a platform asks for TrueType files.
Convert formats here, then prepare for the web, compare in Font Comparison, or explore Font Pairing. Subsetting and deep optimization will live in Font Optimizer when it launches.
A font converter changes the container format of a font file—for example TTF to WOFF2—without building a full web kit. FontLeech’s converter focuses on reliable format changes, batch downloads, and honest limits for variable fonts.
You can upload .otf files, but our encoder outputs TrueType (.ttf), WOFF, or WOFF2. Native PostScript-flavored .otf export is not supported by the underlying library.
Conversion runs in your browser by default. If you opt in to server fallback, a file is sent once over HTTPS for conversion and is not stored afterward.
The Web Font Generator organizes families, builds @font-face CSS, ZIP kits, and Next.js snippets for website deployment. The Font Converter only changes file formats—use it when you need TTF, WOFF, or WOFF2 files without a CSS package.
When input and target formats match, pass-through keeps original bytes. Re-encoding to another format may flatten axes; the tool warns you and lets you preview before download.
Font files store OS/2 embedding permissions (installable, restricted, preview/print, editable). FontLeech shows a plain-language summary—always confirm against your font EULA before self-hosting.
The converter offers quick Basic Latin or Latin extended presets for a smaller file during format change. Font Optimizer (coming soon) is for deep production audits, custom subsets, and table stripping.
Yes. Enable “Also export WOFF fallback” in Advanced when targeting WOFF2. The ZIP includes both files plus CSS with dual src lines.
Conversion runs in your browser by default. Files are not uploaded unless you enable server fallback. Need a full web kit? Web Font Generator.
