Click Devanagari characters on the on-screen keyboard to type Hindi directly. Characters are organized into vowels (स्वर), matras (मात्राएं), consonants (व्यंजन), conjuncts (संयुक्त), and nuqta characters. This is ideal for users who know Devanagari script.
Type in English using your physical keyboard and get Hindi word suggestions. For example, typing "namaste" will suggest "नमस्ते". Press Space to accept the top suggestion, or click any suggestion to insert it. Powered by Google Input Tools API.
Independent vowel characters: अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ, ऋ, ए, ऐ, ओ, औ. Used at the beginning of words or after vowels.
Dependent vowel signs that attach to consonants: ा, ि, ी, ु, ू, ृ, े, ै, ो, ौ. Type a consonant first, then the matra.
33 consonants organized by articulation point: velar (क-ङ), palatal (च-ञ), retroflex (ट-ण), dental (त-न), labial (प-म), and semi-vowels/sibilants.
Combined consonant forms: क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ, श्र. Created by joining consonants with halant (्). Quick-access buttons are provided for common conjuncts.
Dotted variants for Perso-Arabic loan words: क़, ख़, ग़, ज़, ड़, ढ़, फ़. Essential for accurate Hindi transliteration of Urdu-origin words.
Devanagari numerals: ०१२३४५६७८९. Each button shows both the Hindi numeral and its Western Arabic equivalent.
Select 'Direct' to click Devanagari keys, or 'Transliterate' to type English and get Hindi suggestions.
In Direct mode, click vowels, consonants, and matras on the keyboard. In Transliterate mode, type English words and press Space to accept suggestions.
To write 'का', first click 'क' then click the 'ा' matra. The matra attaches to the consonant automatically.
To join consonants (e.g., 'क्र'), type the first consonant, then halant (्), then the second consonant. Or use the quick-access conjunct buttons.
Use Copy to copy your Hindi text to the clipboard, or Download to save it as a .txt file with UTF-8 encoding.
